A ccidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage provides a life insurance benefit only if death is the result of an accident. This insurance should not be confused with the standard term life insurance offered by the University, which pays out upon death, regardless of cause. AD&D also provides a dismemberment benefit according to which complete body member is lost.

AD&D is available for employee-only or family coverage. A spouse is covered at 50% of the employee's coverage amount, and eligible children are covered at 10% of the employee's coverage amount.
