he University has established a three-year dental insurance contract. Dental coverage is offered only to new, benefits-eligible employees, or only at the beginning of new contract. Once you waive coverage, you may not purchase it until the next contract period begins. Once you purchase dental insurance, you may not drop it until the end of the three-year contract, or if you leave the University.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield dental insurance provides two routine cleanings and check-ups per calendar year, which are subject to co-pay amounts. These routine visits may occur less than six months apart. Annual deductibles and co-pays apply to dental services, with an annual maximum benefit limit of $1000.00 per covered person. Orthodontia treatment is subject to an annual deductible, and is covered at 50%, with a lifetime maximum benefit limit of $2000.00 per covered person.
