Employee Relations advises and supports supervisors on employment related matters, university policies and procedures as well as federal and state laws, and resolves complex employment situations. We are here to help maintain positive employer-employee interactions as well as ensure legal compliance with labor regulations. When properly managed, strong employee relations contribute to a positive workplace culture, improved morale, increased productivity, and reduced turnover, ultimately supporting both employee satisfaction and university success.
What We Do
- Educate supervisors and staff on guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor regulations and university policy
- Provide support interpreting university policies for supervisors and staff and recommending best practices
- Assist supervisors with resolving workplace conflicts and consult on effective relationship building techniques
- Provide support to supervisors with performance management techniques, navigating performance issues, creating performance improvement plans, and the termination process
- Assist departments with Reduction In Force (RIF) planning
- Provide employment and mortgage verification
