Work & Life Balance

Full-time employees get two protected pools of sick and vacation leave instead of one in the case of PTO (personal time off). New employees start with eight hours of sick leave. You can earn up to 1,440 of accrued sick leave. This generous sick leave reserve also covers your immediate family, such as children’s doctor or dentist appointments. The accrued vacation leave is yours to use freely, and that pays out if you ever leave university appointment. Unlike PTO, getting sick doesn't cost you your vacation.

Employees get thirteen (13) legal holidays. At times, the University Academic Calendar requires that University offices be open and staffed on certain state holidays. If you're required to work that day, you get one hour of paid time off for every hour you worked. This becomes a banked, or “floating” holiday. Most employees save these hours and use them during the winter break between Christmas and New Year's, when the university is closed.

Flexible Work Options

We offer employees the ability to flex their work schedule and/or use an alternative worksite that fosters personal and professional success and satisfaction. Each department is different and these options vary based on the requirements of the position and staffing needs in the workplace.
