Complete Paperwork & Requirements
Submit your signed offer letter.
You must reply to your offer by signing and returning the offer letter (may be done via Docusign). The letter will include your start date, position title, salary, and confirmation of the terms of probation. This will initiate your background check.
Complete your background check.
You will receive an email from OneSource to complete the background check. Complete this at your earliest convenience as it usually takes 3-4 days to process.
Complete pre-placement requirements.
If additional requirements are needed for your position (such as a physical, drug test, or driving test), Human Resources or your department HR representative will contact you. Complete these at your earliest convenience to ensure your onboarding progresses in a timely manner.
Complete your new hire paperwork.
You will receive an email requesting you complete your new hire paperwork through Docusign. This includes confirmation of employment eligibility with the I-9. Don't forget to have your required documentation handy, as it's required to begin your onboarding process.
Setting up payroll direct deposit will require you use a voided check or the front page of your bank statement (or other official bank document) that has the entire account number and routing number are printed on it.

Commute to Campus
You can receive a complementary 5-day parking permit (new regular hires, who have never had a parking permit before, are eligible). You must take a copy of your signed offer letter with you to UNL Parking & Transit Services at 625 Stadium Drive, Suite A. If needed, there are additional special permits and accommodations for bicycles, handicapped permits, medical accommodations, motorcycle parking, etc.
Confirm with your supervisor where you should park on your first day. Download the Nebraska app which includes campus maps or you can also use the online parking maps and campus maps to plan your travel.
