Unemployment
Unemployment insurance is a benefit to eligible workers who become unemployed through no fault of their own or meet certain eligibility requirements. Benefits are paid from the Nebraska Department of Labor Office of Unemployment Insurance. Benefit eligibility and claims are determined by the Nebraska Department of Labor.
Unemployment claims in Nebraska are filed online at NEworks.nebraska.gov.
Unemployment Identity Theft and Fraud
Unemployment fraud related to identity theft occurs when someone uses personal identifying information belonging to someone else to obtain unemployment benefits. If you receive a notice about unemployment claims from the Nebraska Department of Labor but you did not file a claim, or if you try to file an initial claim and one already exists for you, your personal identifying information may have been stolen and used fraudulently.
Report Identity Theft and Fraud
- Notify our office and we will contact the Department of Labor Unemployment office and let them know that you did not file an unemployment claim.
- You should contact the Lincoln Police Department 402.441.6000 and report that you believe someone has fraudulently filed an unemployment claim in your name.
- You should contact the Nebraska Department of Labor to report a fraudulent claim NDOL.BPCUContact@nebraska.gov.
Retirement

Continuation of Services
- Season football tickets can be continued at faculty/staff rates if the retiree is a current season ticket holder and has been for at least 10 consecutive years.
- Retirees and their eligible dependents may participate in the Tuition Scholarship Program
- Library privileges can be continued by obtaining a community user card at the Love South Front desk
- Campus Recreation membership can be retained at faculty/staff rates at the time of retirement
- Discounted cellular service if retiree held a plan prior to retirement date

- Discounts at Huskertech on the purchase of computer, related equipment, software and cell phones
- Special meal pricing through University Dining Services
- Free admission to the International Quilt Museum and to Morrill Hall
- 10% discount at the University Bookstore located in the Nebraska Union
- 20% discount for two tickets for Lied Center events
- Purchase of Occasional Parking Permit packets for parking on campus
