The EAP administers a loan fund designed to assist non-probationary, regular university employees in financial crisis who have exhausted all means of obtaining financial assistance in an emergency. The Employee Emergency Loan Fund was established and funded by donations from university employees, employee groups, and friends. No State or other university moneys are used by this fund.
How much money can be borrowed?
Up to $1,000 can be borrowed. All money borrowed is interest free and is paid back into the fund by payroll deduction.
How do I apply?
If you are requesting an Employee Emergency Loan, certain application requirements will need to be met. Application criteria are established by the Employee Emergency Loan Fund Advisory Committee. The EELF Advisory Committee is made up of university faculty and staff. An EAP counselor receives and screens all requests before presenting the request to the EELF Advisory Committee. No names are presented to the Committee. Loans are approved or declined by this group. For additional information about loan criteria and application procedures contact the EAP at 402-472-3107 or 1-800-755-2655.
