2024 Coverage Information

The university has new third-party administrators for our health, dental, and pharmacy plans beginning in 2024: BlueCross and BlueShield of Nebraska for our health and dental plans and EmpiRx Health for our pharmacy plan.

Your Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska member ID card was mailed before Dec. 15; however, your ID card may not have arrived yet due to USPS delays. If you need a digital copy of your member ID card, please email UniversityofNE@NebraskaBlue.com.

Please note that dependent names will not appear on the ID cards—only the employee’s name will be listed. The ID card will work for dependent coverage.

You will receive two copies of your ID card. You may call BlueCross and BlueShield of Nebraska at 866-926-1498 to request additional cards or you can create an online account at myNebraskaBlue.com to download your mobile ID card or order additional cards.

Some health plan members may have existing mail order prescriptions that have an automatic refill and shipment scheduled. EmpiRx Health will receive an open refill transfer file from our current mail order pharmacy no later than January 15, 2024. A new prescription from your provider will not be required. If you have any mail order refills that are scheduled to be filled from January 1, 2024 to January 14, 2024, we advise that you work with your provider to fill the existing prescription prior to December 31, 2023.
