Employee Info for Volleyball Day, Aug. 30

Chancellor Bennett has declared an instructional continuity day for Aug. 30. This means that our academic spaces on City, East and Innovation campuses will be closed to all activities not connected directly to the events in Memorial Stadium and other critical functions that require in-person working.

Only essential employees should report to work on campus; and all other employees should work remotely. Employees should consult with their supervisor to confirm if they are to work remotely or report to campus.

Building access

Most academic buildings will only be accessible via NCard on Aug. 30. University Libraries will remain open to the campus community. The Nebraska Union, including the bookstore, will be open to the public. The College of Law, College of Dentistry, College of Nursing and University Health Center also plan to be open.

Parking for Essential Employees

With an influx of 91,000 fans on Aug. 30, most parking lots will shift to welcome visitors. Most City Campus parking areas will be used for fan parking, while East Campus lots will serve as overflow parking. StarTran routes have regular operations: route 22 will operate until 6 p.m., routes 24 and 25 will operate until 9 p.m.

Those identified by supervisors as essential employees who are based on City Campus, and have a current nine-month or annual parking permit, will need to reserve a parking spot in advance. Reserved advance parking is coordinated through ParkMobile and may be completed on a mobile device or a computer.

Limited parking will be available, at no cost, for essential employees with a valid parking permit. Here's how to reserve parking:

  1. Go to the advance parking website.
  2. Select “Filters and Access Codes.”
  3. Enter your NUID number and click Apply.
  4. Use the search box to browse reservation locations or explore the map to select a spot nearby.
  5. Select the parking location that best fits your needs and confirm your reservation information.
  6. You may access parking details and your reservation barcode from your mobile device or computer.
  7. If the reservation was completed on a mobile device, upload to your email for printing.
  8. Print the reservation with QR code.
  9. On August 30, display the printed reservation on the dashboard of your vehicle.

The number of available parking spots is limited. Reserve your spot as soon as possible. Questions can be forwarded to Parking and Transit Services at unlpts@unl.edu or 402-472-1800.
