4. Interview short list approval

Office/Service

Option A:  Unit Applicant Review

Prior to conducting interviews, the hiring unit must submit to Human Resources a list of the candidates who have been chosen for interviews, which can be done through PeopleAdmin by moving the identified candidates to the “Short List Candidate” status and clicking the “Short List Completed” link on Applicant tab of the requisition. Notify a Human Resources Facilitator when this is complete.

Option B:  Human Resources Applicant Review

Human Resources staff will screen applications to the top qualified applicants and forward them to the hiring manager via PeopleAdmin after the review date; no less than three and no more than ten applicants are normally referred to the hiring unit.

The hiring unit is required to interview all referred applicants. If the hiring unit does not find a suitable candidate after interviewing all referred applicants, the hiring unit may request in writing that additional candidates be referred. The request should include reasons why the candidates referred initially were not acceptable.
